The Village of Constantine will soon have a new police cruiser.
In action Monday evening (January 19th), the Constantine Village Council authorized the purchase of a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria from Seelye Ford of Kalamazoo at a cost of $20,107.
According to Village Manager Mark Honeysett, the car lists for “roughly $26,000,” meaning a savings of approximately $5,900.
Honeysett reported that, although the delivery date can’t be projected yet with any degree of certainty, it may be the end of February.
Monday night’s action was a follow-up to consideration of the police cruiser issue during council meetings last September.
