The millage proposal that will be on the May 5th election ballot in the governmental units that are part of the Three Rivers Health Authority was in the spotlight during the Three Rivers City Commission meeting Tuesday evening (April 21st.)
Matt Chambers of Three Rivers Health addressed the Three Rivers City Commission Tuesday evening.
Matt Chambers, President and CEO of Three Rivers Health, utilized a PowerPoint presentation to share information about the local healthcare system, the financial challenges facing Three Rivers Health and other hospitals in Michigan, and the proposed two-mill tax levy that would generate approximately $1.4 million annually for use on capital improvements.
In concluding his presentation, Chambers described Three Rivers Health as “a wonderful organization and a wonderful community asset that you all own – that we own collectively together – and it would be a terrible shame if we have to give up some of these services because of the situation we find ourselves in with the economy right now through no fault of our own.”
Andy Goldberger, the city’s representative on the Three Rivers Health Authority Board, was among several hospital representatives on hand for the meeting.
