If you’re going to be heading for Lansing later this week – or plan to take in the Michigan State University football game at East Lansing on Saturday (September 12th) – you may be interested in this information from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT):
Starting later this week, concrete pavement repairs will begin along eastbound I-496 between Waverly Road and Cedar Street in Lansing.
On Thursday, the right lane of eastbound I-496 will be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
On Friday, the right lane will again be closed, starting at 8:30 a.m., until 5 p.m. on Monday (September 14th).
In addition, the eastbound I-496 exit and entrance ramps at Lansing Road, M-99 (Martin Luther King Boulevard), and Pine Street also will close at 8:30 a.m. on Friday until 5 p.m. on Sunday (September 13th).
Motorists going to the MSU football game in East Lansing on Saturday – or motorists commuting into Lansing on Monday morning – are strongly encouraged to seek an alternate route to their destination. Alternate routes include I-69 to US-127 to I-496, I-96 to US-127, and M-43 (Saginaw Street).
For up-to-date information on this project, go to the list of statewide lane closures at www.Michigan.gov/drive.
