As expected, John Kroggel is a candidate for a two-year term as Fabius Township supervisor, a position to which he was appointed on August 19th of last year following the death of the previous officeholder, Bob McDonough, on July 14th.

Kroggel indicated during the Fabius Township Board meeting in April that he intended to run for the partial term.

According to St. Joseph County Clerk Pattie Bender, Kroggel’s petition and affidavit of identity were filed with Township Clerk Annette Ashby on April 22nd.  Bender said Thursday morning (May 13th) that she “just received the copy of the affidavit of identity for John Kroggel” and “that is why it was not posted on the (county) website before today.”

Bender said Kroggel’s name will appear on the August 3rd Primary Election ballot as a Republican candidate for the supervisor’s post.  No other candidates – Republican or Democrat – filed nominating petitions for the office which will be filled in the General Election on November 2nd.
