The White Pigeon and Mendon girls volleyball teams joined forces to raise support for the fight against breast cancer. The schools raised a total of $1,030 for The Side-Out Foundation through the sale of “Dig Pink” t-shirts. The volleyball match was held on Wednesday, October 13, at White Pigeon High School and individuals and families whose lives have been impacted by cancer were honored and recognized. Emily Abbs, a White Pigeon senior athlete, was instrumental in planning the evening activities.
The White Pigeon instructional staff also raised money to support the cause by sponsoring a “wear jeans to work” day. The staff collected $228 for the fight against cancer. The money will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
