Marcia Saunders will be leaving her St. Joseph County grant writer position later this month to work for Sparta-based Building Science Academy.
Saunders’ resignation, effective April 26th, was noted in the “Personnel Report” approved by the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners during Tuesday’s (April 5th) board meeting.
According to the Sturgis Journal, Saunders has indicated she will assist the Academy with implementation of two residential energy efficiency grants, one in Three Rivers and one in Sturgis.
Building Science Academy’s website says, “We are a licensed Michigan Proprietary School with the State of Michigan. Building Science Academy is committed to providing every individual with the skills to enter the energy efficiency and green jobs work force. This includes entry level workers with no experience in construction or energy auditing through experienced building contractors and energy auditor/raters.”
Saunders’ accomplishments as the county’s grant writer were among the components of the St. Joseph County Economic Development Corporation’s 2010 Annual Report presented to the County Board of Commissioners in December.
