Are you looking for something to do on a warm summer weekend? Look no further than Colon as New Life Assembly of God presents a summer weekend concert series Friday and Saturday (June 1yth and 18th).
Friday evening, beginning at 7, there will be a Christian Rap Concert with recording artist “Tyrone” at the church, located at 204 North Blackstone Avenue.
Saturday – from noon to 2:30 p.m. – it’s a community picnic for the entire family at the new Colon Community Park Pavilion at the corner of St. Joseph Street and Colon Road, one block west of the blinking light downtown. “Teen Challenge” of Lansing will bring chicken and all the fixings, as well as plates and silverware, plus a live worship team and music.
Pastor Dan Prus of the Colon New Life Assembly used to work with “Teen Challenge” in Muskegon. He said, “This is our second year and ‘Teen Challenge’ puts on a great program and they think of everything. There will also be things for the children, face painting, all kinds of games, and two huge inflatables and a tunnel.”
The concert and the picnic games – everything is free.
