If you happen to be out for an evening drive this coming Sunday (July 3rd), go by Palmer and Long lakes at Colon at exactly 10 p.m. Join in watching what is described as “an amazing annual sight” – the lighting of the flares, “Ring of Fire” – around both lakes.

If you are a Colon lakes resident, there is still time to get your flares. Flares can be purchased in downtown Colon at Magic City Hardware and Trayling Insurance.
