White Pigeon Parks and Recreation will present the Second Annual 5K Walk & Run on Saturday, August 20th at the Krull Hockey Arena Parking Lot in White Pigeon.
All proceeds, after associated costs, will be donated to the 1Lt. Jonathan W. Edds Memorial Fund, through the White Pigeon Area Community Foundation.
Funds raised will be used to help deserving charitable and educational programs and projects in the White Pigeon area and help honor the memory of one of White Pigeon’s distinguished sons. 1Lt. Edds was killed in August of 2007 while serving in the Army in Iraq.
At the conclusion of the Walk & Run, the Edds family will be raising a new U.S. flag at Wahbememme Park, which is located at the intersection of US-12 and US-131.

Event Chairperson Marianne Saunders says it’s important to sign up for the 5K by July 23rd to receive a t-shirt.
