The Three Rivers Police Department reports that – around 8 p.m. Monday (August 1) – officers received a tip regarding a suspicious bag near the Pealer Street Bridge. Officers search the area and found a blue and black plaid backpack.
The bag contained multiple items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine including Coleman fuel, drain cleaner, lithium batteries, rubber tubing, and coffee filters. It is believed that the bag was being hidden by its owner to be retrieved later.
Officers safely removed the bag and its contents from the area.
The incident remains under investigation.
