(Cassopolis, MI) – Severe storms have resulted in power outages for about 1700 Midwest Energy Cooperative members. The most heavily impacted areas at 10 p.m. Tuesday (August 2) were Decatur, Dowagiac, Hartford and Vicksburg, although outages are widely scattered across the southwest Michigan service territory. Crews have been called in to begin restoration efforts.
Midwest Energy Cooperative is a member-owned electric utility providing electric distribution and an assortment of energy-related programs and services to more than 35,000 customers in 11 counties in southern Michigan and northern Indiana and Ohio.
