Friday evening (August 26th) brought the first of two performances of Huss Stories: A Play at Huss School in Three Rivers.  The second performance is set for 7 p.m. Saturday.

The play features stories from former teachers, staff, students, and community members presented in workshop format in one of the old classrooms at 1008 8th Street.

Christina Binder, editor and director of 'Huss Stories: A Play,' speaks at the outset of Friday night's performance at Huss School.

Directed by Christina Binder, a theater student at Calvin College and an intern with *culture is not optional (*cino), the production showcases stories about the building’s past, including its days as an elementary school, its closure in the 1980s, and its eventual purchase by *cino.

The play also projects visions for the property’s future as a community center and an off-campus program for college students.

Admission is free; all donations will benefit the renovation of the school.
