Millage proposals in two adjacent ‘River Country’ communities had different outcomes in Tuesday’s (November 8th) election.
Voters in the Village of White Pigeon approved a proposal to establish a .35 mills tax levy for ambulance services for a five-year period from 2012 through 2016. The tally was 71 in favor with 27 opposed.
In the Constantine school district, an operating millage proposal to enable the school district to levy the statutory rate of 18 mills on all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, was defeated with 354 “no” votes compared to 277 “yes” votes.
