Rodney Clementz of Constantine is shown with his winning deer rack. Clementz was the winner the second year in a row of the Big Buck Contest in Constantine. ”I got this buck the opening day of gun season, and last year I got my buck the opening day of bow season,” he said. “I’m real happy I won and I can’t wait until next year’s season.”
The point system assigned 148 7/8 total inches to the antlers.
The Big Buck Contest is sponsored yearly by Joe and Carol Whetstone, owners of the Dam Site Bait Shop in Constantine. There were 130 entries in the contest. The winner receives a free head mount from Wallhanger’s Trophy & Taxidermy in Constantine.
