Jim Toedtman, Editor of AARP Bulletin, shares some valuable insights in his “Editor’s Letter” in the January/February 2012 issue of the publication.
The focus of the article is Dr. George W. Calver, “the U.S. Congress’ first appointed doctor, hired in 1928” and author of the “10 Commandments of Health.” Toedtman notes that, over the next 38 years, Dr. Calver shared his “prescription of moderation,” posted his commandments on “placards displayed throughout the Capitol,” printed them on wallet-size cards, and “distributed them to every member of Congress.”
Toedtman’s “Editor’s Letter” is well worth reading in itself and also includes a variety of links to other items that are of value.
