The City of Three Rivers will celebrate 40 years of service to the City from Kenneth J. Baker on Tuesday, May 1st.

A news release announcing the celebration says:

“Not only did he retire as Chief of Police with 23 years of service with the TRPD, but he retired to serve as a Commissioner, Mayor and proponent of Riverside Cemetery.  Ken has always put the community first and acted out of a selfless desire to improve the community.  He handled every project with a jump into action, get it done approach.  His friends and neighbors supported him throughout his career because of the trust and respect he earned.

“Please join us in the lobby of City Hall on May 1st at 4:30 to celebrate Ken’s service to the City.  We will move into the Commission Chambers at 6 p.m. for a proclamation to be issued in his honor.”

  1. Ken, I’ll be careful here, not to spill any state secrets. I’ve known you longer than most and have always counted you as a friend. I remember most of our high school days, or I should say “nights”. I don’t remember much about the days, as I was usually holding my head. We’ve shared many good times and when you were promoted to Chief of Police, I knew the city was in good hands. I knew you’d do your absolute best to make it a safe, secure place where people could feel comfortable, living and raising their families.
Congratulations and even though I don’t live in the city proper, thanks for all you’ve done for it. Cork
