There’s good news for those who fell in love with the delicious desserts and other tasty delights served by Ralph Humes during the time he operated R. Stanley’s Dinner at 618 South Main Street in Three Rivers. These scrumptious things to eat are available at Ralph’s new establishment a bit further north!
Home-baked desserts, soups made from scratch, sandwiches – “pretty much whatever we can do from scratch” – can be found at Mana, Ralph’s current eatery in The Village at Grand Traverse Commons in Traverse City where he’s serving “Food for the Soul.”
While in the neighborhood recently for the Small Town and Rural Development Conference at Crystal Mountain Resort, Bruce Snook of the River Country Journal talked with Ralph in his new digs and discovered that many of the treats enjoyed in the days of R. Stanley’s Diner can be found at the new location: (Ralph Humes audio clip – :15)
The Village is “one of the largest historic preservation and mixed-use redevelopment projects in the nation,” one that is transforming the former Traverse City Regional Psychiatric Hospital into “a vibrant residential, commercial and retail community.” Ralph’s wife is close by with her Boutique a La Vie in the same building and he’s pleased to be part of the transformation underway in Traverse City: (Ralph Humes audio clip – :40)
The Village at Grand Traverse Commons is located near Munson Medical Center and the address for Mana is 800 Cottageview Drive, Suite 30, Traverse City, MI 49684. The telephone number is (231) 941-6648.
