The Three Rivers City Commission again has a full complement.
City Clerk Lindsay Howes administers the oath of office to Larry Matson, the new Third District commissioner just prior to the start of the Three Rivers City Commission meeting Tuesday evening. Looking on is Mayor Tom Lowry who after the swearing in invited Matson to come forward and take his seat on the seven-member commission.

Matson, of 627 South Constantine Street, was appointed to the interim position during the commission meeting on April 17. He was among three persons who expressed interest in the appointment by filing a Citizen Interest Form by the deadline of 4 p.m. Friday, April 13.
Matson will serve in the interim capacity until November when the remaining year of Baker’s term will be filled in the general election.
Nominating petitions for the one-year term as Third District commissioner and two-year terms for Second District commissioner, Fourth District commissioner, and At-Large commissioner are due in the City Clerk’s office by 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Petitions may be picked up at the City Clerk’s office. Candidates filing petitions are to have not less than 30 or more than 50 signatures of registered electors of the City of Three Rivers.
