Two key administrative positions within the Three Rivers Community Schools have been filled.
Superintendent Roger Rathburn reports that Jennifer Graber has been chosen to serve as principal at Norton Elementary School and Sheryl (Sheri) Thorbjornsen as principal at Park Elementary School.
According to Rathburn, the district interviewed several candidates and members of the committee involved in the process were unanimous in selecting Graber and Thorbjornsen for the posts. The committee consisted of two Board members (Mike Bosma and Waneta Truckey), Curriculum Director Judy Wordelman, Rathburn as superintendent, and two elementary principals, John Klein (Hoppin School) and Nikki Nash (Andrews School).
Graber currently works for Battle Creek Lakeview Schools at Minges Brook Elementary as a 4th grade teacher and instructional coach for other teachers. She lives in the City of Three Rivers.
Thorbjornsen currently works for the Mar Lee School District in Marshall where she serves as K-8 building principal. She is a 1981 graduate of Three Rivers High School.
Graber will succeed Lois Millet and Thorbjornsen will take over for Fred Matusik. Both are veteran employees of the local school district who will be retiring at the end of the current school year.
