That’s the word from the Three Rivers Sustainable Food Group, an all-volunteer group that gathers for regular potlucks of locally-grown and raised foods and generates the guide annually.
As noted in the publication, the mission of the group is “to practice and promote sustainable, community-based eating. We support each other, our local community, and communities around the world in developing sustainable food practices by learning and teaching, by connecting people and resources, and by shopping locally.”
The guide is a listing of local food producers, complete with a map showing the locations of 17 “Local Food Producers and Sponsoring Growers,” plus information about local farmers’ markets and additional resources for finding locally grown/produced food and products, and ads by like-minded businesses supporting the guide.
Local producers and sponsoring growers listed in the guide are:
- Al Lombard – Apiaries
- Bluebird Farm
- Bubbling Brook CSA Farm
- Cedar Lane Meats
- Corey Lake Orchards
- Green’s MM Beefalo Farm
