MDOT repaving 50 miles of roads in Branch and Calhoun counties

More than 50 miles of roads in Branch and Calhoun counties will be repaved in work slated to begin on Monday (June 4).

The Michigan Department of Transportation reports the following repaving projects in the Coldwater and Battle Creek areas:

  • I-69 will be repaved from the Michigan/Indiana state line to the Branch/Calhoun county line.
  • I-69 BL (Business Loop) will be repaved from Fenn Road to US-12 in Coldwater.
  • M-96 will be repaved from Riverside Drive to M-66 in Battle Creek.

The $1.8 million project includes shoulder work and concrete curb, sidewalk, ramp and pavement repairs, as well as bridge deck repairs.

According to MDOT, there will be single-lane closures during construction.

The estimated end date for the projects is Friday, August 24.
