Work to install ten Life Trail Fitness Stations is underway at Riverview Park in Constantine.
Constantine Village employees Dave Keifer and Marcus Waltke work on erecting the first of ten Life Trail Fitness Stations at Riverview Park on Monday (June 11).
The stations can be used by anyone, and provide older adults and wheelchair users with an opportunity to exercise outdoors.
Each station provides a variety of exercise options prior to, during or after a normal walking routine.
The activity panels have instructions, and also carry information on health, the general benefits of exercise and specific medical conditions.
The stations – along with a Born Learning Trail, pavilion, basketball court and other items – were funded with a $108,000 grant from the state with some funds coming from area businesses and clubs.
The project is part of the Parks and Recreation Board’s Five-Year Plan.
