Police Chief Jim Bedell distributed the flags and told children about  the importance of the American flag and what it symbolized. Children recited the Pledge of Allegiance and were each given a small flag, a red, white and blue cookie, and treat bags with patriotic items in them by DDA director, Diana Lammott.

“I like Flag Day, and I like cookies,” Zach Stears said after the event.
