TR Board of Education adopts budget for 2012-2013

The Three Rivers Community Schools Board of Education has adopted a ‘preliminary budget’ for 2012-2013, a period that begins July 1.

The action came following a 45-minute public hearing Monday evening (June 25), a session that preceded the regular board meeting and included presentation of budget information, primarily by Superintendent Roger Rathburn.  There was no citizen input during the ‘public comment’ time at the end of the hearing.

The budget for the upcoming year projects revenues at $23,135,309 and expenditures at $23,593,725.  The budget and associated resolution set a tax levy of 17.7242 mills for operating purposes on all non-homestead and non-qualified agricultural property, 1.02 mills on all property for the 2004 debt, .68 mills on all property for the 2007 bond refunding, and 4.60 mills on all property for the 2008 bond refunding for a total of 6.30 mills on all property for debt retirement.
