The National Weather Service (NWS) in Northern Indiana has issued a Heat Advisory which is in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday (June 28).
The advisory says that air temperatures and heat index values will exceed 100 degrees Thursday.
Regarding impacts from the weather conditions, the NWS lists the following:
- Hot temperatures will impact outdoor activities.
- Record or near record high temperatures are possible.
Forecasters say to take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.
