Here’s an advisory from Fire Chief Mike Haydon of the Constantine Fire Department:

With the recent dry conditions and the forecast of more hot and dry weather over the next week or so, the Constantine Fire Department will not be issuing any burn permits in Constantine or Florence Townships until we receive substantial rain. Please check with your local Fire Department before burning to see if permits are being issued in their jurisdiction.

We would also caution the public with the Fourth of July approaching to be extremely cautious when lighting fireworks in these dry conditions.  Also, please keep in mind that not all fireworks that are sold in Indiana are legal to shoot in Michigan.  For more information on what is legal in Michigan please go to http://www.michigan.gov/documents/lara/fireworks_381040_7.pdf.
