On several occasions in the past I have provided links to the Reading for Leading, the weekly column written by Dan Mulhern. I do so again because the column that arrived in my e-mail today (July 2) is very timely and points to another resource that appears to have significant value.
In the course of his pre-Fourth of July column – entitled ‘Frustration, Fireworks and Freedom’ – Mulhern refers to and recommends a book by Meryl Runion called How to Restore Sanity to Our Political Conversations. Based on material available via the Amazon.com link he provides, I intend to order the book and check out the ideas voiced therein by Runion who talks about the need to “stop arguing and start communicating about politics.”

Best wishes for an enjoyable Fourth of July holiday!
