The City of Sturgis and Sturgis Fire Department recently lost one of our own with the passing of Assistant Fire Chief Ladd Carpenter. The Fire Department will have a fire truck procession on Friday (August 3) prior to Ladd’s funeral that will start at Eagles on West US-12 and run to the intersection of US-12 and Nottawa, turning north on Nottawa to the Wesleyan Church. Any community members that are not planning on attending the funeral can help recognize Ladd for his service to the Sturgis community and show support for his family by standing along the procession route. The procession will start at approximately 10:30 a.m. at the Eagles.
