The Three Rivers City Commission is slated to conduct two public hearings during its meeting Tuesday evening (November 20).

The first hearing is in regard to an application from W.E. Slitt Company for an Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption for real and personal property totaling $649,367.  The application reflects the addition of 10,000 square feet of warehouse space, 5,460 square feet of finished goods holding space, and six truck docks.  Also involved is the purchase of a “sheeter” transferred from Quebec, Canada.  The company expects to retain 21 jobs and create 7 jobs with completion of this project.

The second hearing concerns the request from V x V Ministries for a Special Exception Use Permit for a place of worship to be located in a B-3 Business District at 54 North Main Street.  The Three Rivers Planning Commission reviewed the permit application last week and is recommending that the city commission approve it.

The commission is also slated to:

  • Consider purchasing 5 SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) for the Three Rivers Fire Department at a cost of $26,000
  • Consider directing the city manager to develop an agreement with Three Rivers Health to accept the donation of hospital-owned property near the Department of Public Services to the city.

The meeting will be held in the Commission Room at City Hall, beginning at 6 p.m.
