Michael Rice, the superintendent of the Kalamazoo Public Schools has criticized school-takeover legislation under consideration by the Michigan Legislature.
At issue are House Bill 6004 and Senate Bill 1358, legislation related to the Educational Achievement Authority, creation of which was announced by Governor Rick Snyder in 2011.
