Portage Avenue Snowman - original

The lack of snow prompted cancellation of the Snowman Making Contest that was scheduled for January 26th in Three Rivers and four other Michigan communities – Douglas, Saline, St. Clair and Zeeland – but things have changed in recent days.

That’s a snowman! (Click on photo to enlarge)

Evidence of the altered circumstances – and the resulting potential for snow creations – can be seen in the 500 block of Portage Avenue in Three Rivers where the fellow in the accompanying photograph resides.

Even without a contest, this snowman can be considered a winner!

Editor’s Note:  This post was updated at 2:56 p.m. 2-6-13 to substitute a new photograph of the snowman showing details added since the original picture was taken.

OK, so if you added a pair spandex bicycle pants, spaghetti strap top, and a shopping cart to the snowman in the picture, is it just me or would it look alot like some of the folks I see shopping at Wal Mart?….well done!!!
