Michigan WORKS! is currently conducting assessments at the Three Rivers Michigan WORKS! Service Center to accommodate customers applying for the over 500 job openings at the American Axle & Manufacturing plant in Three Rivers Plant that were announced last week.
Assessments are currently being scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., on Fridays from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Three Rivers Service Center is located at 16587 Enterprise Drive.
Applicants can also apply and schedule an assessment online from the Three Rivers Michigan WORKS! Service Center or any computer with Internet access at http://www.aam.com/Careers.html. From the web page, applicants should select hourly jobs from the menu on the left and then click on continue. The next step would be to select Three Rivers for the location and AAM Three Rivers Production for the position. A message describing the position, pay, and job requirements will appear. Upon choosing continue, applicants will have the opportunity to create a profile and complete a brief questionnaire. Applicants who pass the assessment will then be able to choose an assessment appointment. American Axle personnel will conduct the assessments at the Michigan WORKS! Service Center located in Three Rivers.
Following the assessment, applicants will be required to complete an on-line American Axle application. Eligible applicants will be referred to a staffing agency for interviewing, drug screening and background checks.
Minimum requirements for the open positions are: must be at least 18 years of age, must have a high school diploma or a G.E.D., must have reliable transportation, and must be willing to work any shift. Shift hours are 6 a.m. – 2 p.m., 2 – 10 p.m., and 10 p.m. – 6 a.m. Starting pay is $10/hour.
Also, on Saturday, February 16 there will be a Job Fair from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Kalamazoo Michigan WORKS! Service Center located at 1601 S. Burdick Street. Applicants attending the job fair will be required to complete a registration form and attend an American Axle orientation session. Interested applicants will then be directed to register for an appointment to take the American Axle assessment which will take place at the Three Rivers Service Center.
