The cafeteria, kitchen and commons area at Three Rivers High School were busy spots Thursday evening (February 7th) during the 18th annual Empty Bowls Soup Dinner.
The event was the culmination of a project in which 1st, 3rd and 5th graders in Three Rivers schools made a clay bowl they donated to this community event. Guests were encouraged to donate $5.00 to enjoy the dinner and take home a bowl of their choice. A Silent Auction of bowls created by staff members was also part of the evening.
All proceeds will go benefit the Three Rivers area Emergency Care Network Food Site.
Last year’s Empty Bowls Soup Dinner raised $3,619.
This year’s event included a display remembering Daisy Wagner, longtime manager of the Food Site in Three Rivers, who died January 27th at age 77.
