‘The Duster’, a Three Rivers Health Variety Show, delivered lots of entertainment to an enthusiastic audience Saturday evening (March 2) in the Three Rivers Middle School auditorium.
The show, a fundraiser for the St. Joseph County United Way, was preceded by a pancake dinner in the cafeteria.
The two-hour show was produced and presented by Three Rivers Health employees.
The evening also offered attendees a chance to learn about a number of the 42 agencies that receive support from the United Way. Many of those agencies were on hand with displays set up in the hallway outside the auditorium and cafeteria.
In the course of wrap-up activity on stage, Director Luke Parsons said, “We’re just short of $2,000 tonight,” a reference to the fundraising yield for the event – an amount that was supplemented by attendees as they voted with money for their favorite acts as they greeted the performers following the show.
NEW INFORMATION ADDED 3/5/13: Show Director Luke Parsons has an update regarding ‘The Duster’: “We have cleared $3,000. The generosity of everybody there was unbelievable!”
The accompanying photos provide some glimpses of ‘The Duster’, an early event in a series of fundraising projects that will take place during the United Way’s ‘Campaign 2014’. The recently completed ‘Campaign 2013′ exceeded its goal and generated $735,689.
