The radiology department at Three Rivers Hospital recently underwent technological upgrades that will provide patients with the most state-of-the diagnostic testing.
In December 2012, a new ultrasound machine that performs a variety of diagnostic tests was added that emphasizes on breast care.
“With all the changes in health care, one thing remains constant – the need to remain contemporary with technology,” said William Russell, CEO of Three Rivers Hospital. “Our hospital prides itself on the technology we offer to the community, and we will continue to implement advancements in technology for the health of our patients.”
This year, the radiology department received numerous top-of-the-line advancements. The addition of a 128-slice CT scanner means patients will have clearer images with lower radiation dosages to the patients. “We wanted to improve our technological clarity while we implement a piece of technology that will reduce a patient’s exposure to radiation,” said Russell.
Two digital x-ray rooms were added to the radiology wing as well as a portable x-ray machine.
For over 90 years, Three Rivers Health has offered its patients and community technology-driven care, including a wide array of inpatient, rehabilitation, outpatient, wellness, hospice care and specialty clinic services.
