The Three Rivers Police Department reports the arrest of one person following a one-vehicle property damage accident Wednesday (March 13) at East Hoffman and Wood streets in Three Rivers.
After being dispatched to the scene, officers found that a vehicle had left the roadway and struck a fire hydrant. Officers made contact with the driver, identified as a 33-year-old Three Rivers woman. Their investigation revealed that she was under the influence of alcohol and had consumed alcohol prior to the accident. The driver also had her 13-year-old son in the vehicle when the accident occurred.
Police say the driver failed three dexterity tests. Officers then placed her under arrest for Operating While Intoxicated and Child Endangerment. Officers transported the driver to the police department where she was processed. They then transported her to the St. Joseph County Jail where she was lodged with no bond pending magistrate review.
