6th annual CPS Staff vs. Police

More than 200 people attended the 6th annual Constantine Public Staff (CPS) vs. Police basketball game, held Friday (March 22)at Constantine High School. The final score was 71-59, in favor of CPS. The crowd was invited to take half court shots for $1.00 at halftime, and a bake sale was also held.

Riverside Choristers under the direction of Crystal Sherd-Chew and Sue Wilson sang several songs, including the National Anthem.

The “Fabulous Faculty” or CPS staff who played in the event are David Barney, Joshua Schott, Jerry Burgess, Steve Wilson, Adam French, Bryce Ingram, Dave McGee and Adam Peterson.

The “Fabulous Blue Team” or police who played in the event are Josh Wiard, Mason Stranton, Jermaine Bryant, Shawn Ax, Matt Wolfe, Kyle Vosburg, mike Kline, Gary Gagne, Matt Thomas, Josh Royce, Patrick Shears and Troy Andrews. Coach was Holly Cerny.

Announcer was CHS principal Chris Barnes. Referees were Shawn Griffith and Mike Tulley. Athletic Director Mike Messner was the score keeper.

Baked goods were donated by Constantine Community Fitness Center (CCFC), Lilliput Learning Center & Day Care and the police. Awards were presented by CCFC to Erin Stears-first place and Danica Dreher-second place in the “Biggest Loser Contest.”

All proceeds from the event benefit the CCFC.
