Congratulations to Angie Birdsall upon being named this week as ‘2013 Constantine Citizen of the Year’!

River Country Journal readers will recognize Angie as a frequent contributor of articles and pictures to the RCJ with a focus on her hometown of Constantine.  She also contributes to the Three Rivers Commercial-News and the Sturgis Journal.  All of us can be thankful for her love of community and journalism and for her efforts to report on life in “this neck of the woods.”

Angie Birdsall received a Michigan Art Education Art Advocate Award from Constantine art teacher Dorothy Brueck, for contributing articles on art.  The award was presented during a Constantine Board of Education meeting on March 11, 2013.

To learn more about Angie Birdsall – known as ‘the bicycling reporter’ – see Wednesday’s (June 13) edition of the Three Rivers Commercial-News (page 7) for the excellent article by Managing Editor Elena Hines.  To access a brief online version of her story, click on the following link:  Birdsall named Constantine Citizen of the Year.

As noted by Elena, the tribute to Angie will include the opportunity to “ride in style in the Constantine Fourth of July parade.”

Again, congratulations Angie – and thanks for all you do!
