City of Three Rivers ATAD foam over into containment area

From James Baker, superintendent of the City of Three Rivers Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP):

“The City of Three Rivers WWTP experienced a foam over of biosolids from the ATAD into the constructed containment area at 09:45 this morning (6-17-2013).  The volume of the release was estimated at 112 gallons.  Level sensors and an automation system shut down the process preventing a much larger release.  There was no impact to surface waters.”

  1. Just another foamover....

Boy….good thing this didn’t happen 11 days ago when they did the big public tour showing off the completion of the new projects on the WWTP. Seems like there is a foam over reported about every month or every other months here in the RCJ. The good news is that I think that is the first time I have actually heard the plant called a WWTP–I mean folks have been calling it the CWP (clean water plant) for year–glad we are finally calling it by its proper name.
