As the largest music festival in history, Woodstock offered some of the best and most memorable music of the era. The Three Rivers Library ‘Bringing Woodstock Home’ event hopes to recreate some of that music and energy by having local teens (along with some area professionals) perform their own versions of the songs and performances from Woodstock. Our professional musicians and artists will also be working side by side with students to guide them in the development of their performances and also to provide instrumental assistance and back-up as needed.
In addition to musical performances, we are hoping that some teens may want to contribute artwork, costuming, set design, stage management – whatever suits their talents and interests. There are many great ways to get involved. Finally, we are planning to create a video of the process and event which will be available to participants for their own resumes. The Bringing Woodstock Home final event is scheduled for August 31 at the Riviera Theatre.
The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, July 3. A sign-up sheet is available at the front desk at the library. Interested persons can also contact the YA Librarian Beth Neff at 273-8666 or by email at email@example.com.
