On July 10th, 2013 a Golf Outing will be held at Island Hills Golf Club near Centreville to benefit T.J. Baker and his family as they face a family health crisis.
A decorated St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office Deputy and Three Rivers Police Officer, T.J. Baker was diagnosed in May 2013 with a rare form of cancer. In an attempt to halt the disease, his left arm was amputated on June 6th, 2013 and he has a long recovery ahead of him. Despite this, T.J. is determined to return eventually to the police work that he loves.
The impending loss of his medical insurance coverage, however, means that his family will have to cover premium costs and anything that insurance doesn’t cover and the community is coming together to support him with the help of St. Joseph County United Way.
The organizers need tee sponsors, prize donations and food sponsors for the event as well as participating golfers. For more information and to register please contact St. Joseph County United Way at (269) 467-9099. Any money donated to the United Way for this cause must be designated to T.J. Baker Fund.
