Dear River Country Journal friends,

Bruce passed away on Thursday, August 29. He had sudden onset of symptoms on August 3, and was diagnosed with severe pancreatitis caused by a gallstone lodged in the common bile duct. We were with him throughout 23 days in ICU as he developed one complication after another. Our family, including his sisters were with him when he found peace.

From the Three Rivers Commercial News

We will have a memorial service Thursday, September 5 at 10:00 a.m. It will be at Riverside Church at 207 E. Michigan Avenue, Three Rivers. You are welcome to join us in celebrating Bruce’s life.

Memorials may be donated to the Three Rivers Lions Club or the Riverside Church Health Clinic. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.hohnerfh.com. Thank you for your many thoughts and prayers.

With River Country Journal, Bruce was fulfilling his dream of providing a local news and community affairs magazine, which focused on the many beautiful people, places and events in this river country.

On his behalf, I ask that each of you continue his dream of celebrating and nurturing life in St. Joseph County’s River Country.

Our condolences to Snook family. He will be missed not only by this community but by everyone that he ever touched, everyone that knew Bruce feels the loss and will surely miss him. I can’t think of an event that happened that Bruce would have missed, he dearly cared for this community and we will miss him very much. God speed Bruce.
