Parade and fireworks to be part of Independence Day celebration in Colon

A parade and fireworks are key ingredients of the Independence Day celebration planned for Thursday (July 4th) in Colon. The parade is slated to begin at 11 a.m. and the fireworks display will take place at dusk, shot off from the Colon Elementary School area in downtown Colon.

Tenney unseats Whitford in contest for village president in Colon

Thomas Tenney has unseated Thomas Whitford in the contest for village president in Colon. According to unofficial results from Tuesday’s (November 6) General Election, Tenney collected 359 votes (73.12 percent) compared to 132 (26.88 percent) for Whitford.
